Many people consider coconut oil as
a super food due to its numerous benefits. Apart from being used as medicine
and as food, it also has other uses and advantages and the best part is that
there are no disadvantages to using this product. Here are some examples on how
you can use coconut oil.
1. Suppressing your appetite. Taking 1 teaspoon of coconut oil prior to your meal can help make you feel fuller. This could be due to the fats that are being metabolized. Science has discovered that ketones can help reduce your appetite.
2. Treatment for cold sores. Coconut oil contains anti-viral compounds that not only
provides relief but can also treat cold sores faster.
3. Heals burns quickly. Applying
coconut oil on burns can help provide relief and quick healing.
4. Warts. Warts can be treated by applying coconut oil on them then
cover with band-aid. The coconut can get to the heart of the fungal infection
which means that your warts can fall off within a month or so.
5. Haemorrhoids. Applying coconut oil directly on the haemorrhoids is found to be quite effective in soothing the pain while reducing the swelling.
6. Acne. Coconut oil is useful as a remedy for acne both externally
and internally. Inside, coconut oil can help regulate hormones that cause acne.
Externally, you can dab coconut oil to your pimples to help reduce the redness
and swelling.
7. Treatment for impetigo sores. Itchy sores caused by mouth, foot, and hand diseases can be
relieved using coconut oil. It can also help reduce any excess infection.
8. Regulate blood sugar levels. Based on an animal study that was published in the Indian
Journal of Pharmacology in 2010, it was discovered that a diet that was
supplemented with coconut oil helped improve tolerance of glucose and reduction
of cholesterol levels. Researchers have attributed this effect on the coconut
oil’s lauric acid which means that you won’t have to worry about any roller
coaster effects on your health.
9. Treating overgrowth of candida. Candida can be eliminated using coconut oil due to its
lauric acid content. Candida albicans are basically parasite and yeast that can
steal your body’s vital energy.
10. Treatment for diaper rash. Since coconut oil contains anti-fungal properties, it can
help treat rashes from diaper. Regardless of whether you are using homemade
baby wipes or cotton and water, there is still a possibility that your baby
gets rashes when using diapers. Coconut oil, therefore, can help relieve and
soothe the discomfort your baby is feeling.
11. Sun protection. The SPF in coconut oil can help reduce the damage from UV
rays by 30% so make sure that you apply as much as possible to give you the
protection you need while soaking up the vitamin D from the sun.
12. Mosquito bites. Any swelling or itchiness caused by bug and insect bites can
be soothed with coconut oil.
13. Fire starter. Instead of bringing gasoline on your next camping trip, why
not soak cotton balls in coconut oil to get that fire started?
